Social Media: Lisa Hutchins

Lisa Hutchins is the 2023 Social Media Representative for RJV. She was elected to the board in 2023, so this is her first year as a member of the RJV Board.

About Lisa

Riverside Junior Vikings Involvement

Prior to the pandemic, in 2019, Lisa coached the D Team Cheerleaders (now termed the I team) when her kindergarten daughter first joined cheer with RJV. Fast forward a few years past the pandemic, and her daughter decide to join cheer again. She offered to assist with any cheer coaching needs, but coaches were already in place at the beginning of the season. However, towards the end of the season, there was a need for additional coaches, so she stepped in to help her daughter’s team prepare for an additional competition. Inspired by the C team placing 3rd in the competition and RJV bringing home the Spirit Award, she decided she’d like to continue working with the organization the following year and to get even more involved.

She hopes to help with coaching again this year with the intention to provide more consistent direction, skills training, gymnastics incorporation and stunt coordination into the RJV cheer routines.

Board Position

Throughout her time coaching and helping the cheerleaders, and spending time on the sidelines and a parent in the organization, she felt that she could provide better ways to help parents have a more clear understanding of events, calendar organization, awareness and overall team and organization transparency.

Lisa has a background in computers, with a degree in information systems and has previously built several websites for both herself and clients. Therefore, in January, she requested a position on the board as the Social Media Director. She indicated that she would really be able to lend her skills to increase the organization’s web presence, through establishing a new website, and developing more active social profiles for the team. She is striving to make things easier and more apparent for everyone involved, and helping parents to be able to feel more connected to the coaches and board members. Her goal is to promote a better sense of feeling more “in-the-loop” for team players, parents, board members, fans and everyone involved with the Vikings.
